Please read the lovely interviews in DANS Magazine, the Dutch Dance Magazine, and in DANCE Informa USA, about my idea to create a new fashion and look of the everyday Pointe Shoes. The new look is colorful, dancing and artsy. The feedback on social media was super positive as I think this look is meeting a need of ballerina’s who want more choice and variation in pointe shoes. Awesome! Lots of pictures also on Instagram: meeke_mutter
I hand painted a new fashionable look of the pointe shoe. The new look is artsy, dancing and colorful. My designs are now developed into durable, cute and removable pointe stickers the ballerina can easy adhere to the pointe shoe for more spice and style. Also great for performances. No need to dye the shoes anymore but an easy way of bringing color and beauty to the shoe. The pointe stickers are called the Pointe Elegantia’s™.
My dancers come to life on stage! It is my honor that Yuka Kawazu, director and super talented choreographer of dance company Danse En L’Air in NYC used my dance calligraphy painting “Two Princesses” as inspiration for her new dance piece. The choreography is beautiful and was performed among other at the Ballet Arts Showcase. So nice:) See the perfect blue wigs!
Dance and my own movements, internalized in my body, are a great source of inspiration for my art on canvas. Also nature, colors and calligraphy. I never use an example like a dance picture or a dance model when I paint. It just flows out of my hand. Herewith a short dance improvisation in slow motion.
