A little background. The Pointe Elegantia’s® are an invention by Meeke Mutter.
Meeke: “I had these old pointe shoes I did not want to throw away. A friend suggested to paint them and I did. I started painting many designs bringing my dance calligraphy art onto it. It made me think. The look of the pointe shoe has not changed since 1832. There is so much variation in leotards, legwarmers and skirts for ballet dancers but there is nothing to enhance the elegance and color of the pointe shoe for a performance, class or photo shoot in an easy, fast and affordable way.

So I came up with the idea to develop my designs into elegant pointe stickers of premium quality you can stick on the pointe of the shoe, called the Pointe Elegantia’s®. I find a great company that makes them. The pointe stickers are artsy, colorful and elegant. Distinct benefit is that the stickers are easy to adhere and remove without damage so there is no need to dye the pointe shoe anymore for color and beauty and you can always return to your original color shoe. The pointe stickers are strong and durable and last on average a month depending on how often you use your pointe shoes.

I made many designs and many of them have even a positive name as I also wish to encourage the ballerina to keep putting on their pointe shoes despite the often frustrating pain. I hope with the Pointe Elegantia’s® they can enhance their elegance and joy while dancing.”
